 LAST FIVE: 4-1-0 : OVERALL: 4-1-0

Game 1: Rangers
NYR (2) - PIT (3)

The first official game since their Stanley Cup win June 12th. The Penguins were raising their 3rd banner to the rafters of an arena which they played their last home game; an arena which they have spent their entire 42 years of existence in. Pens picked up right where they left off and out-dueled a new look Rangers squad.

Game 2: Islanders
PIT (4) - NYI (3) SO

Facing the much anticipated inaugural game for John Tavares, the Pens got their second win of the season despite playing a back to back games. Crosby shined with a 2 points and a shootout win. He also gained his 400th point of his young career; achieved in only 292 games.

Game 3: Coyotes
PHX (3) - PIT (0)

Quite honestly an atrocious game. Haven't seen the Penguins play this out of sync since before last years All-Star break. Brent Johnson got his first start and despite the loss showed he can protect the net as good as anyone in the league.

Game 4: Flyers
PIT (5) - PHI (4)

If there was a game where the Pens could redeem themselves from such a poor attempt it was against their arch nemesis the Flyers. The Penguins looked like an entirely different team from last game and won in stellar fashion scoring 5 goals against Emery. Malkin showed why he was the scoring champ gaining 2 points. And Kris Letang was victim to some cannibalism.

Game 5: Maple Leafs
 PIT (5) - TOR (2)

Coming off a strong game against the Flyers the Pens didn't take it easy on the Leafs. Outshooting the Leafs 14-2 in the first period the Pens went on to dominate Toronto. Cookie got his 100th career goal and another strong effort from Sid the Kid.
