Penguins Gameday 11/30/09 - Sid Loves New York

Tonight the Pittsburgh Penguins wrap up a home and home series with the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. This also wraps up one of the dumbest scheduling weekends for the Pens this year. The Pens played in New York Friday afternoon vs. the Islanders, Saturday night home vs. the Rangers and now back to New York for tonight's game vs. the Rangers. Guess the Pens missed the Statue of Liberty tour on Friday after the game.

Good news and bad news this afternoon on the injury front, Alex Goligoski missed the morning skate with an undisclosed injury. Head coach Dan Bylsma has yet to discuss the injury but did note that the Pens will have veteran d-man Jay McKee back tonight. The Penguins are also without the services of winger Matt Cooke who was suspended for two game following a hit to the head of Artem Anisimov of the Rangers. Perhaps more importantly Cooke loses $29,268.30 of pay for the two games he will miss, "I think I need a better paying gig". Here are your starting lineups from the Penguins website.

Talbot-Crosby-Guerin

Head Coach Dan Bylsma on Matt Cooke's suspension: "I don’t get to have a take on it. The league reviews those hits and they’ve made a decision. We have to move on."

My thoughts for tonight's game:

1.) Don't get sucked into a goon game
2.) How will "Jerk Store" affect Stall and Kennedy
3.) Keep the Power Plays' momentum.
