Singing with Bing: Pens take both games of Home-and-Home with Flyers

The Pens traveled into Philly for the second end of the home-and-home with the Flyers. The Flyers, whom were routed by the Pens on Tuesday by a score of 6-1, looked to redeem themselves in front of their hometown fans. Would the Flyers be able to hold off the Pens? or would the “Crosby Sucks” chants fuel another spectacular game from Sid and the boys?

Jeff Carter opens the scoring with a wrister, that eventually deflects off of Gonchar's glove into the net at 1:15. [0-1] Carle and Briere with the helpers.

Carcillo goes to the box for high sticking at 3:01, Pens on the power play. The power play is starting to click as Dad scores from the crease at 3:48 a PPG! [1-1] Kunitz and Geno are credited the assists.

Rupper decides he has had enough of Asham’s crap and drops the gloves with him. The fight wasn’t much to talk about but it seemed to get both teams going.

The “Crosby Sucks” chants started very earlier but should
we expect any less from the Flyer fans?

TK goes to the box at 7:36 for tripping. PP killed.

Mike Richards throw an elbow to the back of Mark Eaton’s head, no call?

Fleury makes and unreal save on Little Debbie Briere, more of those saves to come.
Dups return to ice after taking a slapper to the foot.

Carter goes to the box for roughing at 12:43, no dice on the PP

Pens go 1-2 on PP

Shots even at 11 at the end of the first

Geno goes to the box to start the second period at 1:51, Giroux capitalizes on PP with a wrister over Flower's shoulder. [1-2] Carcillo and Richards with the assists.

Giroux goes to the box for high sticking at 5:09, no dice.

Geno goes to the box for hooking?? at 6:15, PP killed.

Hartnell goes to the sin bin for hooking at 8:00. Pens go on PP.

After a couple good chances in front of the net, Sid picks up the rebound 20 feet out and blasts a slapper to the top shelf over Boucher [2-2]. Kunitz and Gonchar with the helpers.

Carter goes to the box for delay of game after dishing the puck over the glass . PP, no dice.

Pens 2-5 on the PP.

Flower goes on a rampage and makes a plethora of saves.

Carcillo has a chance to put the Flyers ahead after poor communication between Fleur and his defensemen . Carcillo had an open net, but Flower makes a diving save.

Pens and Flyers with a lot of back and forth hockey.

Staalsy has been looking strong to the puck as of late, great shift for him.

Fleury stands on his hand and makes a couple of amazing pad saves to keep the game tied.

Tenk takes on hit from Coburn to the face, and remains on the ice for a couple minutes but skates off on his own power.

At the end of the second, the Flyers lead the Pens in shots 9-8

Flyers come out in the third shooting the puck from every angle.

Boucher makes a nice glove save on Geno.

Dupes causes a nice turn over, but Geno does too much fancy work and loses control of the puck.

Letang goes down to block a cross ice pass from Carter, great defensive play.

Carcillo takes out Gogo and continues to lay on top of him and push him into the ice. What a joke.

Boucher makes a great glove save on Gonchar after an awesome shift from the Cookie-Addsy- TK line.

The KGB line has a nice shift, did everything but score a goal.

Flower seemed to be having trouble handling the puck resulting in big rebounds.

Richards goes low on Letang, then continues to get up and run his mouth at Tanger. I guess that's Leadership?

Nice last second chance from Geno but his shot doesn’t get through.

The Flyers out shot the Pens 11-8 to the end the third.

Orpik and Carcillo go to the sin bin both for slashing 27 seconds into OT .

Pens and Flyers play some 3-on-3, pretty boring.

Dupes set up Gogo beautifully but Gogo’s shot goes over the net

Richards tries a wrap around, but Flower lays down the pads to end OT.

  • Briere stopped by the poke check of Flower X
  • Letang jukes Boucher out of his jock and lands a nice shot to the top shelf
  • Giroux is also stopped by the poke check of Fleur X
  • Bing FTW actually flubs on his shot but it still beats Boucher

Tanger breaking Boucher's legs with the fake

Boucher realizing he just got burnt

[3-2]

We can never go a game without an unreal Bob Errey comment, so here's my favorite of the night:
