Penguins Gameday - 10/31/09 - Wild

Last night is considered devils night in the world of superstition. If you were a Columbus Blue Jacket fan you might think that Sidney Crosby is the devil the way he sucked the life out of Nationwide arena.
According to SLBD the Penguins had mechanical issues with their plane last night and didn't finally get to sleep until 5am. I'm guessing they didn't have a morning skate.

Tonight the Penguins take on the Minnesota Wild, the newest home of Petr Sykora. The latter half of last season Sykie decided not to show up. Matter of fact his slump was so bad that Byslma eventually pulled Sykora off of Geno's line and replaced him with Satan (speak of the devil), a then waived 34 year old AHL player. As such, it was pretty obvious we weren't going to offer him a contract, so he landed a shot with the Wild and there he is.

Sykie has played well for the Wild, despite being a healthy scratch for a few nights. He's trying to prove himself to head coach Todd Richards. Last night he received the 1st star of the game last night with a goal and an assist over the Rangers. Tonight he and Martin Havlat get a chance to prove themselves against a tired, shorthanded (though resilient) Penguins squad.

Projected lines for tonight's games will be.
