Penguins Gameday 2/10/10 - Buckle Your SeatBelts

Tonight the Pittsburgh Penguins host the New York Islanders at 7:30 at the Mellon Arena. To all fans heading down to the igloo tonight I wish you safe and warm travels, Pittsburgh is still under the gun from another winter storm. Most all roads into and out of Pittsburgh are at a crawl as of early this afternoon. My suggestion to all fans, leave early and drive safely.

**Mellon Arena will open all gates at 6 pm for fans tonight only.**

It has been an extremely frustrating couple of days for this PensUniverse writer, working in both snow storms, dealing with traffic, and people in grocery stores is not my idea of fun. But seeing Jordan Staal, Tyler Kennedy, and former head coach Michael Therrian in back to back days at Carnegie Walmart was awesome. I personally refuse to bug a player on his own time, but I did say hello and shook hands with all three.

The Penguins held an optional skate this morning, only 15 players took the ice; I assume Sid and Malkin were not shoveling this morning. No real news came out of the practice other then Marc-Andre Fleury introduced his new mask to the team. No word on when it will make an appearance during a game.

Here are highlights from the last meeting and the PensUniverse recap here.

Will's keys to tonight's game.

1.) Take a lead into the 1st intermission. NYI are 1-18-2 after 1 period and 1-23-4 after 2.
2.) Power Play, Bill Guerrin has 6 of his 8 PP goals at home.
3.) Be physical, outside of Orpik haven't seen that much hitting lately.

I have great neighbors. They have helped out a lot with their snow plow. It’s been great that they have been helping to take care of my driveway. That’s real nice of them. Marc-Andre Fleury
