Penguins Gameday 3/31/10 - Pens & Bolts

The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at 730 and will do so without Malkin and Gonchar in the line up. If this was last year and we were fighting for a playoff spot I bet they would be able to play but we are in, and its time to let the boys rest up. I am glad we have the opportunity to let these guys heal, but I would also like to see Malkin gear it up for the playoff run.

The Lightning come into town tonight with only one thing left to play for, can they get Stephen Stamkos the goal title? Going into tonight Sid leads with 47, Ovechkin is 2nd with 46 and Uncle Jesse has 45. Dan Rosen of NHL.com does a good job of breaking down the race with all players having six games to go.

Just got done reading a great article from penguins.com about Rick Tocchet and Ryan Malone talk about the Igloo. For Malone tonight has to be special his last game in the arena he grew up watching the Pens and the arena he started his NHL career.

My keys for tonight's game.

1.) Fore check - don't get St. Louis, Vinny, and Stamkos time and space
2.) Power play - Putting this one on GoGo its time you have to control a pass or two
3.) Penalty Kill - Stamkos has 22 PP goals, shut him down
