Another NHL10 Glitch...

Okay, so its an off day for us Penguins bloggers and it was all NHL10 for me. I'm a little ahead of the season playing the January 11th game in St. Paul Minnesota. I went in to OT with the Wild and right off the bat Crosby gets a chance to win it. First off he gets tripped (which should be a penalty shot) and then he clearly gets the puck past Backstrom which he then knocks into his own net. GOAL! Nope. The light doesn't go on and the game rolls on. AND I ended up losing on a Havlat backhander. Total crap!

Conspiracy. I blame Jerk Store.

Waiting for NHL10.......

Waiting for the release date of NHL10 to arrive has been agonizingly slow. It's like lying in bed on Christmas eve, standing in line for Space Mountain at Disney World, and waiting for your pick on draft day all at once. So I've decided to find ways to get through these last days until I can start working a new groove into my couch. So for you consideration, in no particular order, here is my list of things you can do to pass the time until you rip that annoying plastic off of the best game in town.

  1. Play the demo - This may sound obvious, but if you have not downloaded the demo yet, shame on you for six weeks. It is awesome and cruel all at once. Like giving an alcoholic one, glorious shot and then saying he can't have anymore for a month,
  2. Read - No, this isn't a joke. There are tons of great works of literature out there to stimulate you mind and imagination. I suggest starting with Sports Illustrated or TV Guide.
  3. Watch some football - The new season starts this weekend and we need to get behind the other champions in Pittsburgh. Go Steelers!
  4. Talk to your wife/girlfriend/significant other - Do your time now because there is a good chance it will be June before you get to do it again.
  5. Workout you thumbs - You don't want to be cramping up before you even reach the playoffs. Maybe flip some coins or find someone to thumb wrestle.
  6. Finish your yard work - Get that lawn mower out one last time because there will be no time for pruning and edging after next week.
  7. Sleep - Because we all know what it's like to start playing a game one night and the next thing you know the sun is coming up.
So good luck, and I know together we can get through this. And don't forget, once you have your own copy of NHL 10 in hand, it is never too early to start preparing to tough it out until hockey season starts. Might I suggest:
  1. Play your NHL 10 constantly
  2. Watch the Penguins Stanley Cup DVD again
  3. Bask in the glory

Flower Power: This Ain't No Glitch

I'm absolutely sure every Pens fan noticed this, but I keep forgetting to take a picture when necessary (I get too excited to win game 7 and watch the Pens win the Cup).

Have a look at team goalie rating for the Pens.

I said in a previous post I was interested in seeing what the EA Sports developers in NHL10 would rate Flower this year as I believe he was rated an 86 in NHL09 (citation needed).

Well, not that I know exactly what they have Fleury rated this year, but I'm pretty sure Brent Johnson isn't contributing to this team rating of [90].

The Glitch

So after continuously playing the NHL10 demo over and over and still getting excited when the Pens win The Cup in Detroit, I noticed this glitch.

Waaaaaaaaaa!

EA NHL10 - Pens Player Ratings

This morning I came across one of a very cool Pittsburgh blog called Post Game Heroes that had posted a number of the player ratings (including images) for the Penguin players in NHL10. Included are new players such as Jay McKee and Mike Rupp.

To be honest, I want to know what Flower's rated at. I think he was [84] in NHL09. Who knows.

Oh, he's also got the rating for some Capitals as well. And its nice to see both Geno and Sid are rated higher than Ovie.

:: Have a look yourself ::

Don't forget the newest game mode, BATTLE FOR THE CUP. Click here for a video. The only thing wrong with the video is the Hawks are raising the Cup. Not gonna happen.
